You’ve been feeling really yucky for a while. You might have some extra weight you just can’t shed, you might be tired allllll the time, you might be anxious or irritable or even depressed.
You FEEL like you’ve tried everything but nothing is working – why not?
After working with hundreds of women throughout the years I have seen certain healing roadblocks over and over again and I’d like to share those with you today. Sometimes it takes an outsider looking in to point out the obvious so consider me that outsider pointing at something you might not have considered….
You are a unique individual. You have a different health history, different toxin exposure, different microbiome, different genetics, and different blood type than someone else, so what works for them might not work for you.
When you’re working with an experienced practitioner to determine which diet is best for you, which probiotic is best for you, which healing protocol is best for you, and more, they should know how to customize that. If you’re trying to do it on your own, you may not have the depth and breadth of knowledge necessary to figure out exactly what’s right for you, and this might be your roadblock.
Just because your friend Karen felt amazing drinking celery juice every day doesn’t mean it’s going to work for you, unfortunately. And if it doesn’t work, that doesn’t mean you’re a helpless case, it just means you haven’t found the RIGHT solution for you.
Now let’s say you have #1 figured out and you know what’s right for you…but you do it in the wrong order, that’s not going to work either. One of the best examples is killing off Lyme bacteria. Before you embark on a killing spree you have to make sure that all of your detox pathways, not just the liver, but skin, liver, gallbladder, kidneys, and bowels are all working properly, otherwise, there will be nowhere for the toxins given off by dying Lyme spirochetes to go….and it will pile up in your body and make you feel terrible.
Another example is an incorrect order of operations for gut healing. If you have SIBO, for example, you usually do not want to introduce probiotics until the SIBO bacteria are gone, otherwise, the good and bad bacteria fight for dominance in your body, and your SIBO symptoms will become exponentially worse.
This one is pretty common when people aren’t working with a qualified practitioner, and for good reason. You try something, but you’re not even sure if it’s the right thing or not, so you bail on it pretty quickly to move on to the next fad or trend that comes your way.
Unfortunately, you’re never going to get anywhere this way. Your body needs time to heal. Going back to the celery juice example, if you tried it for two days and nothing happened...maybe you didn’t try it long enough. Or maybe it’s numbers 1 and 2 and it either isn’t right for you, or you’re not doing it in the right order.
Mindset is often overlooked and is a pretty big deal. Our minds are powerful and if we have an attitude that no matter what, we’re never going to feel better and it just is what it is...what do you think is going to happen with that? You guessed it, you’re not going to get better.
This is another place where working with an expert can be really helpful. They can help guide you through both conscious and unconscious roadblocks.
